My Bio: Dayna Cakebread
Stylist ~ Educator ~ Speaker
It is my goal to take my 3 To Be Me concept education to a global level, giving the world a new approach to beauty from the inside out! My career includes experience not just as a stylist, but also as an educator, a speaker and a salon owner.
1992: Graduated from Horst Educational Center in Minneapolis (now known as The Aveda Institute). In the first six weeks of my education I won the all-school student competition for total look. What a thrill...I knew I had found my calling!
1993 - 2000: After graduation, I moved to Portland, Oregon and joined the Aveda Concept Salons, creating assistant programs and serving as Educational Director.
1998: Began leasing my chair as an independent contractor and started taking assistants to teach my concept educational program. In 2002 my first salon opened (Belle Epoque Salon). This quickly became an educational studio, preparing new stylists for the challenges of a hairstyling career.
2005: Built 3 To Be Me salon concept, providing full service test branding programs. This salon was the first in North America to achieve a Zero Impact Salon recognition from the Davines hair product line of Italy. In 2008, Belle Epoque Salon won the City of Portland award for Best Sustainable Business (small business category).
2010: Moved on from salon ownership in order to focus more attention on my efforts as an online educator to expanding my web presence and public speaking engagements.
2015: Partnered with Artecorte in Havana, Cuba to support their non-profit Beauty School and historic scissor sculpture. I created a campaign called www.scissorsforcuba.com Currently I travel to serve and donate my 3 To Be Me training to the students.
2016: North American Coordinator for Artecorte.org projects in Havana, Cuba.
